Staff Changes

This summer saw a lot of changes for J12. Change can be difficult but it can also be exciting. Gordon has left to go back to teaching but Craig has joined the team as trainee Project worker and Katie is here for the year doing a gap year with Scripture Union Scotland.

We are sad to see Gordon McKie go after 4 years with us here at J12. Gordon made the very hard decision to return to Primary teaching within Glasgow City Council. However, despite no longer ‘working’ for J12, he is not a stranger to the Base and will continue to volunteer on some of our camps as in Gordon’s own words, “J12 was always more than just a job” to him.

Craig Whyteside started working as a Trainee Project Worker at the beginning of July following volunteering with the project since its beginnings in 2007. Alongside his work at Junction 12, Craig will also be studying a BA (Hons) degree in Theology with Youth & Community as part of his training. He is looking forward to this new challenge, spending more time with the young people and continuing to build up relationships with the young people.

Katie Stott will also be joining our team for a year following completion of her degree in Time Based Art & Digital Film. Katie is joining us as part of the gap year she has taken with Scripture Union Scotland although she will be in the base working along the J12 team full time. During her year with us, Katie will be mainly working with the S1-S3 age group as well as primary groups and mentoring a few older young people.
